Above and Beyond the Upstate
Diana Lawson graduated from the University of South Carolina upstate with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She is owner and Director of Above and Beyond the Upstate, an early intervention service. She has 6 years’ experience as an Early Interventionist and over 10 years of experience working with young children. Diana is very passionate about helping children reach their full potential and empowering families to help their child meet developmental milestones. She enjoys being able to secure resources for families and their children in order to take advantage of all available programs that align to a child’s specific need. She is excited to become part of the THYME and play volunteer team and hopes this opportunity will help develop more relationships with the families in the community.
Diana is married, has a 4 year old son, 1 year old daughter, and a 9-year-old stepdaughter. She loves the outdoors and going on hikes with her family.

Celynes Melendez, COTA/L
Lifespan Therapy Services
Celynes was born and raised in New York City however, her parents are from Puerto Rico. She is fluent in both the Spanish and English languages. She moved to SC 10 years ago with her husband. She has two beautiful children ages 6 and 2 years old. She graduated in 2003 with a Business Associates and quickly realized she wanted to be in the medical field. After working as a Medical Records Clerk for 7 years her decision to go back to school and become a COTA was made official in 2014. She has been working with Lifespan Therapy Services ever since. Celynes loves to help children reach their developmental goals. For her, being an occupational therapist has been her most rewarding job ever.
